While hiking through the Limietberg wine ward with their children, winemaker Wynand and his wife Anya came upon a vineyard that seemed to call out to them. They were instantly captivated, gripped by the certainty that these vines—stretching patiently across the hillside—were meant to become wine, and nothing could sway him from that path.

This little vineyard, a humble patch of dryland-farmed Muscat d’Alexandrie bushvines planted in 1971, held a quiet magic. From its tiny, wild vines came the juice that would shape the “Jan Rap en sy Maats” –  white blend, bursting with untamed floral muscat fruit …
